Read & sign the open letter to urge UMass Chan to place a stay on postdoc layoffs!
UMass Chan recently announced that they intend to lay off or furlough workers, including postdoctoral researchers, in response to the government’s efforts to cut federal research funding. We believe that these layoffs are premature and will cause unnecessary harm to our colleagues and our research. We are circulating an open letter urging the UMass Chan administration to place an immediate stay on these layoffs while they explore other options for responding to threatened funding.
The more of us sign the open letter, the more effectively we can convey to the UMass Chan administration that postdocs and grad workers across campus are against these rushed and damaging layoffs.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
