Today, our Bargaining Committee had our seventh bargaining session with the UMass Chan Administration. We presented a counterproposal on the Grievance and Arbitration process, where we restated our commitment to a fair and timely process to settle violations of our contract.

UMass Chan presented two counterproposals, Intellectual Property and Workload. UMass continues to insist on the status quo, striking all sections in each proposal that would change existing policies—even removing language that would codify our rights to authorship on our original work. As we continue to bargain, we urge the University to engage with the demands of the vast majority of postdocs who unionized to improve our working conditions at UMass Chan.

You can find all of the proposals and counterproposals on our bargaining tracker here

Show your support for our fight for a fair contract now by coming to our next bargaining session on Thursday, Jan. 22nd at 2-4pm—RSVP here.
